In 1931, Louis opened his first mattress store in Brooklyn, New York and taught his son Harry all about the mattress trade. Harry worked hard tying knots and stitching mattresses by hand, dreaming of comfort yet to be discovered. Two years after his father’s death, Harry decided to use what he learned hand-making mattresses with his father and expand the Brooklyn mattress store.
